School Philosophy

The Progressive Montessori Academy follows the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, who believed that the greatness of the human personality begins at the hour of birth.

The principle goal of the Montessori philosophy is to develop the whole personality of the child. The Montessori system recognizes that each child is different and respects their uniqueness and ability to learn at their own pace. The mixed-age classrooms, with children ages 2 ½ to 5 years old all learning together, create a sense of community. The older children assist the younger, allowing the students to nurture their independence and leadership skills.
